**This listing is not actually for purchase. The items pictured are examples of Custom Costumes I have made in the past Prices shown reflect the low and high end of what a Custom Costume can cost based on materials and styling selected.**
Costumes take on many forms anything from a “princess witch” to Star Wars themed costumes for boys and girls to super heroes. The process to create a costume is a bit different than my other garments. As with all my garments they will be constructed of good materials, made to last and be neat and tidy on the inside. However, to cut down on costs they will probably not be fully lined or have some of the finer, dressmaker details that go into my apparel items.
The process of creating the costume is a collaborative one. At the custom consultation session we can discuss the idea, sketch, drape and find fabrics. I’m happy to recommend items that you might be able to use from home or elements that you and your child can make together to accessorize the costume I am making. This is a fun and playful kind of project and I’m here to help where it makes sense, while also being conscious that part of the fun of costumes is doing it yourself.
About this dress:
This gown is a unique combination of specialty fabrics. It was made using yards upon yards of fabric to create fullness and to accentuate the “spin factor” that girls love. This gown was hand crafted in my studio in Maine. It takes me several days to make each one, beginning with shirring the yards and yards of fabric that go into the many skirt layers. Once the base of the dress is made, I spend hours selecting and hand sewing the specialty trims, lace, ribbons, beads, etc that provide the sparkling finishing touches.
The dress is constructed to “grow” with it’s owner. Elastic in the straps and back of the bodice back mean that this dress will fit her for several years.
Dresses are fully lined and fully finished with a dress-maker’s quality of detail. There are no buttons or snaps to frustrate little fingers, just an easy sash to tie in the back (or front!).
My gowns are made with generous amounts of fabric and elastic at strategic points of growth so that they can be worn for many seasons.
They are made on the long side so that they may sweep the floor when they are first worn (or for shorter girls) or may hit mid-calf later on.

This dress is an investment. I want you to feel confident in your purchase, so know that all of my gowns come with my “Fairy Godmother Guarantee”.
“Fairy Godmother Guarantee”
I want the girls who receive my gowns to feel comfortable to play to their hearts’ content in my creations. While I construct my gowns to last, they are made from delicate materials and we know that accidents happen while children are happily at play.
I will endeavor to repair any of my gowns should they ever become damaged from normal wear and tear during play, spinning or general highly active princess behavior. I am happy to take a gown back to my shop and bring back the magic. All I ask is that the customer ship the gown to me and I will pay the return shipping.
